Changing From Chemical To Organic Fertilizers : Can Kill Plants ?

Many users of fertilizer, including the household consumers and farming producers, asked this question on what if changing from traditional chemical to bio-organic fertilizers, will the change destroy or affect the growth of the crops ?

Bio Organic fertilizer is typically slow release whereas the chemical fertilizers are strong and with immediate effect. In fact from some studies, the organic fertilizer is very much better off and safer for the plants than the chemical fertilizers.

Will the so-called strong and instant features of chemical fertilizer healthy to the consumers or crops ? If the plants are not consumable by human or livestock, such as flower and non-fruiting tree, the chemical fertilizer application on plants should be fine. However, what if the crops are servable, whatever chemical material that absorbed by the crops, would inevitably transfer into the body of human. Does anyone of you prefer to consume chemical fertilizer indirectly daily ?

To be honest, the chemical fertilizers do not have significant effects on plants because the crops themselves are brainless to think, that is, whatever you supply to the plants, they will absorb it wholly. However the chemical fertilizers will have great effects on the soil and environment in long term. Please view below to enlighten further.

Both the chemical and organic fertilizers should not kill plants except in situation that the users or farmers overdose the fertilizer on crops. The plants are like human body, if we overdose ourselves with too much supplement and vitamin, which beyond our body requirements, can definitely make us falling sick or with severe diseases.

If we reverse the topic : Changing From Organic To Chemical Fertilizer : Can Kill Crops ? The answer is negative, but the plants will get faded or limited growth after a period of time for continuation of chemical fertilizer utilization. Why ? The utilization of chemical fertilizer will slowly destroy the good elements of soil.

What are the results of deterioration of soil quality ? After a period of time of chemical fertilizing, the soil particles will become compact and not be able to hold nutrients and moisture (basically the water retention). Sooner and later, the soil will become harder and harder and the absorption of water by the roots of plants will be very restricted.

Water is the main substance of any crop. Thus, with limited absorption of water by the roots of crops will eventually fade or limit the growth of the crops.

However for the bio-organic fertilizers, not all the bio-organic fertilizer has good effects on plants and soil. We observe a lot of user and farmer ever tried some non-effective bio-organic fertilizer and this inevitably resulted them a thought that the bio-organic fertilizers have no difference with the chemical fertilizer. This is not correct ! We could only justify that the selection of a suitable bio organic fertilizer by the users is very important.

A great organic fertilizer should enhance the soil quality and will not cause hardness of the soil. This eventually will enhance the absorption of water by the roots of crops. A great organic fertilizer supposedly should be a factor to improvement of crop nutrition, improvement of soil fertility resulting in better productivity results as well as better resistance to diseases. Additionally, a great bio-organic fertilizer should effectively increase the returns of farm producers whilst the production and soil maintenance expenses should corresponding cut down.

Finally, rich nutrients in bio-organic fertilizers should nutritious the soil, reduce soil erosion and compaction, and enable uninterrupted and healthy plant growths.

Note : after treatments with such correct organic fertilizer, the soil with plenty of organic matter (OM) will remain loose, allow roots to focus the soil comfortably to absorb nutrients and provide a steady stream of nutrients to the stems and leaves.
